The Product

The mini clamp hook is a portable device that allows users to conveniently hang anything from AAC cables to snack bags.

Anyone can use a clamp hook; I imagine it can be used to hang a bag off a table at a restaurant or a cane at a workstation. People with limited hand dexterity may run into trouble due to the twisting required to tighten the clamp.

We learned how to use machinery and tools from Bray staff. I had never used any of that equipment before, so I learned a lot and had fun! I love making things with my hands.

If I ever make this again, I would make the clamp more versatile by putting the block in the top section of the clamp, using a fully tapped bolt, and making the top section a bit wider. One of the big problems I ran into is that this clamp cannot fit around many tables.

The Process

Now, I can add jump shearing, metal manipulation, and hole tapping to my skillset! I will certainly be back at Bray to learn about the other machinery we have.

<— “Jump shear” = jump to shear metal!

Probably not the most accessible device, but certainly fun.
