The Product

A switch mount facilitates independence and access to functionality in all locations of a user’s life, as the switch mount can travel on a wheelchair at all times.

The iLean is intended for use by anyone in a wheelchair that cannot use their limbs to interact with technology or functionality. For example, a child who doesn’t have arm dexterity or strength can hit the switch with their head and activate a toy, like a bubble gun!

We were given this file to send to splice and send to a 3D printer. I have 3D printed before, so the process of setting up and printing was pretty smooth. One of the printers I was trying to use turned out to be malfunctioning, so the student staff at NOLOP were helpful at getting me to another printer.

The Process

Now, I have even more experience with 3D printing! It is so amazing that we have access to a machine that can make nearly any invention come to life.
